hardmoon london is a new independent platform solely focused to release music by the analog militants who are struggling against the loudness war of digital industry and want to spread the love of that warm, distorted sound exclusively through vinyl or special tapes. the tracks we are going to release are recorded directly on tape without the help of computers, so that interference, mistakes, and noise are all going to be apart of whatis pressed straight onto the 180 grams of throttling hammers grinding away. it is all enclosed within in a special printed sleeve! the first release comes by way of courtesy from the mysterious hissman who captures, with his name, the vey essense of the tapes sound: hissssss... that is the sound you hear when a tape starts rolling.

cyan341 is bethnal green boy mark streatfield, returning to uncharted audio here with his new ep *coal train*. released ahead of the full length *far from home* album, this ep follows his earlier *disconnected* and *pattern 4* releases on uncharted audio (licensed by james zabiela and championed by the likes of move d and benjamin brunn). when we first heard the opening track it was signed on the spot – probably one of the finest uk techno rumblers we have heard in many a year.

kris wadsworth is an increasingly rare breed of artist that flat refuses to play industry games and pander to current trends, focusing on the darker, more uncompromising (and more honest) realms of electronic music. releases have steadily clocked up for such esteemed imprints as boe recordings, nrk music, alphahouse, get physical and morris/audio, landing on hypercolour for 2009’s impressive ‘deport this” (and subsequent single “mainline”), and it is for the eclectic and forward thinking uk label that wadsworth aims his second full length player at.

after a remix for dasos so sexy last year, the german-peruvian artist martin patiño confirms his presence on popcorn records with an entire ep. to begin with, solid ground is born from the collaboration with astrid. we already heard them on the great hunter ep on cadenza at the beginning of the year. the result of this new featuring is an original techno track with all the good components you expect from tr707 drums to a xylophone melody, in addition to the sexy and reassuring voice of astrid. the american pezzner honored us with a particular interpretation. a deep theme, with percussions, long and subtle panpipes breathe. as if pezzner was paying tribute to martin patinos roots. finally, routinary coffes comes to conclude this warm and deep record done for the sweating parties of the upcoming winter.

art continues with its southern italian theme with a debut release from salernos claudio mate. claudio has released esteemed eps for the past 5 years on labels such as klap klap, dpress, lilith, modelisme and more. his remixes include work for juan atkins infiniti, urs gerald mitchell and roberto bosco. this three track ep is full of melodic goodness with a subtle toughness underlying it all. perfect for that end of night encore moment!

laak return on austere with four cuts, only available on vinyl as usual. laak are on point with the opening track unbalanced, an intensely gritty track. there is also a remix of an archive laak track by dj spider who completely dismantles the original to create a dark menacing remix. the b side kicks off with mental & emotional which continues the theme along with the more laid back track, the rituals. overall an ep that will not disappoint fans of the label.

bleary faces is the debut ep of berlin based fabian dikof. as a youngster he learned his first basic skills in producing and deejaying from mr. andre lodemann himself. all of the tracks featured here are on a slow-house tip without losing their ruff edge through a massive bass foundation. it is all about progresssion with a strong emotional build up. deep-house veteran vincenzo is on remix duties here. he re-creates the main track bleary faces with a new theme enhancing the original with some more disco-influenced touches.

warm and crispy as always, the third monday night - mixed, structured and recorded live on tape. the whole ep is a cutting-edge merger between old school and modern, carefully crafted sounds, to forge an outstanding collection of deep house tracks with a timeless fashion.the opening track on side a serves a gentle two-chord loop, locked with a groove beat progression, whilst track two builds up a dense swarm of rapid drums, with synthetic bursts twirling on an energetic bassline. on the b side, a bare, rampant one note bass leads a haunting, gloomy first track, whose main theme is surrounded by recurring confused, scatterbrained vocal samples, while the second one is characterized by the simplicity of an upright, stabbing rhythm directing an emotive one note chord. the ending track develops around a big, serious bassline, pleasantly contrasting with a succession of dreamy, floating melodies and noises

merkur releases its 6th ep which has a new, different approach compared to the last eps for which it has gained much praise during the past 5 years. the a-side >theme of mercury< was produced by label founder shingo suwa and akirahawks, who is known for the unique re-edit label house mannequin. the two of them mainly perform at homopatik in berlin. theme of mercury is a hypnotic track which was created with some broken old synth and sends your mind on an intergalactic odyssey, before diving into the deepest ocean on a journey to forget about space and time. the first track of the b-side is a remix from ducerey ada nexino aka yuji kondo, also known for his work under both his own name and as a half of steven porter on semantica. the remix fastens up the mix by repetitive pulsating synths, giving the beat an industrial modern atmosphere and letting the crowd heating up. the second track on the flip-side, called >barsoom<, is a solo production by shingo and completes the whole package. the functional work of a cut up 303 acid line with raw bass and a running groove creates an insistent and deeply pressured feeling. vinyl only, limited to 300 copies.

rare strictly groove #01 is the first chap. of a series of 12 inches which include the best unreleased tracks from artists already in the labels roster and very close friends. this v/a open with *waltz to share* by avenir, a quite old track from the very superb catalogue of our favorite producer from palermo. modern and fresh deep house, enriched by the beautiful voice of clara and some precise arrangements of space sounds and more vocals. also we find two tracks by salvatore stallone, one of the artist is influencing more at this time, with his unique and amazing jazzy touch and incredible eclectism. *etes* and *brian off* are both very concrete underground pearls, inspired by masterpieces of the past. but the main theme of this release is dedicated to *the king* by daughters & sons. some expert house rhythms and groove with his name looped in an involving memory.
